Out-of-Network Services
We are a primarily private-pay practice and do not bill most insurance directly. The only insurance we accept is CT Husky/Medicaid. This means full payment is due at the time of service, ensuring your treatment stays private, flexible, and free from insurance-mandated diagnosis rules.
-
Using OON Benefits
If you have a PPO or POS plan, it may include out-of-network benefits. This means your insurer may reimburse a percentage of your therapy costs after you meet your annual deductible.
However, insurance covers only standard therapy services, identified by specific billing (CPT) codes. Extended 90-minute sessions and multi-week intensive packages are not standard therapy services that insurance deems billable and are therefore strictly self-pay.
-
Courtesy Billing
For eligible services, we can submit out-of-network claims electronically on your behalf. Once your insurer processes the claim, any reimbursement is mailed directly to you. Reimbursement is not guaranteed, and you are responsible for communicating with your insurer about reimbursement concerns.

Check Your Coverage
Calling the member services number on your insurance card and ask:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much has been met?
What percentage is reimbursed for CPT codes 90791 (intake) and 90837 (50-min session)?
How do I submit claims if courtesy billing is not used?
